October 20th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting with other signatories to the revitalized peace agreement has began, an opposition official said.

Manawa Peter Gatkuoth, the SPLM-IO Deputy Chairperson of National Committee for Information and Public Relations said the meeting is taking place now at the Presidential Palace J1.

“The meeting of the UN delegation with the parties to the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) has started at J1,” he told the Nyamilepedia from Juba today.

“Hopefully there would be a breakthrough but we are reiterating our rejection to the formation of the reconstituted TGoNU without the security arrangements in place,” he added.

Early, President Salva Kiir and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar met the heads of security committees implementing the peace agreement.

The two men directed the security organs to expedite the process so that the Revitalized-TGoNU can be formed on time.
