“Just came across news that some people and possibly Junubin assaulted and beat former SPLA commander and Yei River State Deputy Governor Abraham Wana (Wani) Yoane in his house in Kampala yesterday badly to grave level. He was found beaten badly and unconscious until he had to undergo a major (craniotomy) surgery bcoz he had internal bleeding in the head.” Peter Lo wrote on his social media page.

“General Abraham succumbed to his injuries that was inflicted by thugs of Juba and died today 22nd April, 2021 in Kampala, Uganda,” part of a statement from the SSNMC/A extended to Nyamilepedia reads.

According to the leadership of SSNMC/A, General Abraham Wana was a  “decorated and renowned freedom fighter” who believed in freedom and equality.

SSNMC/A blames the government of president Kiir and his national security for the death of their leader.
