SPLM-IO to submit names of their nominees within days

Oct 26, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — The First Vice President of the Republic and Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM/SPLA (IO), Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, held a consultative meeting with the SPLM/SPLA (IO) representatives from all the constituencies in all the 10 States.

James Gatdet Dak Lampuar, the representatives have been directed to submit the names of their respective nominees within days for appointments to various executive and legislative positions in the States.

The Press Secretary of SPLM-IO leader and First Vice President, said in a statement on his social media page that the names of nominees to the national legislature in Juba are also in their final touches for submission.

He added that he believes the other Parties to the R-ARCSS are equally getting ready to submit names of their nominees.

Last week, President Salva Kiir Mayardit and the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar were briefed by the High Level Committee for structuring of both the States and local Government after the completion of their task on allocation of responsibility sharing of States Government amongst the various parties.

According to the Statement that was shared by the presidential press, the government is ready to fasten the implementation of the peace agreement that was signed two years ago.

In the meeting with the high level committee, the president urged the Parties to present the list of the names of their nominees for the appointment of the States government this week.

The statement by the James Gatdet Dak Lampuar that SPLA-IO is about to submt the names of its nominees is a sign that there of progress by the country’s main opposition
