May 6, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) — A group of SPLM-IO senior officials who defected to the Kiir-led SPLM-IG have on Monday met the South Sudanese head of state attacking Dr. Riek Machar of employing nepotism.
“A delegation led by Former Senior SPLM IO member Dak Duop Bichiok who defected recently to President Salva Kiir Mayardit said, they don’t understand why some people are still supporting the leadership of SPLM IO under Dr. Riek Machar,” President Salva Kiir’s office said in a statement on Monday.
“Speaking on behalf of group leader Dak Duop, Thomas Maluit Hoth said, SPLM-IO is full of nepotism and discrimination without any clear reform agenda for the nation,” the statement added.
Dak Duop defected along nine senior SPLM-IO officials last month accusing Machar of turning the opposition group into a family dynasty for appointing Angelina Teny, his wife, as defense minister.
