July 5th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s main armed opposition, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) Chapter in Australia has threatens to dismiss and expel members who utters hard speeches on the social media in contrary to the SPLM-IO code of conduct.

In a statement issued by the SPLM-IO’s Australia Chapter, the group warned members of incitement and irresponsible behaviors which it said are not in line with the SPLM-IO’s policies.

“The National Coordination Office of SPLM (IO) in Australia would like to warn all its members to desist from all forms of behaviors including public incitement and abuse that have become prevalent on the social media,” the statement signed by the group’s Australia National Coordinator, Keak Daniel B. Kier, reads in part.

The statement said this behavior contradicts the comradeship and failure by members to comply with the order will make them risk expulsion and suspension among other disciplinary measures because it exposes the movement to disputes.

“This is not comradeship spirit  the SPLM (IO) stands for.  Failure to heed the call to cease such behaviors will lead to a suspension or expulsion of the perpetrators from SPLM (IO). Members are called upon to refrain from activities and behaviors because such activities and behaviors out the SPLM(IO) into dispute,” the statement said.

The statement said, defamation of others and lack of good characters of the members of the SPLM-IO are punishable by law as stipulated under the constitution of the SPLM-IO Internal Regulation 2015.

“Defamatory acts and bullying are sanctionable offences under the constitution of SPLM (IO) 2015, Internal Regulations of SPLM (IO) 2015, and Code of Conduct and Disciplinary procedures of SPLM (IO) 2015 specifically,” the statement said.

The statement said the national coordinator directs all the chapter leaders in Australia to be vigilant and take appropriate measures against any member found to be in violation of the aforementioned rules and violations.
