SPLA-IO Magenis claims they captured Amut and gained ammunitions.

August 19,2021 — The Sudan People’s Liberation Army-In-Opposition (SPLA-IO) under the command of Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual claimed to have captured “Amut” from the faction loyal to South Sudan’s First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

Yesterday on 17th of August 2021, the SPLA-IO Magenis based military spokesman, Brig. Gen. William Gatjiath Deng, who is close ally to leader of splitter group Gen. Gatwech Dual, accused Machar’s forces of attacking their military barrack in Tabaldi where he claimed to have defeated Machar’s forces back in disarray.

In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, Brig. Gen. William Gatjiath claimed his group has captured “Amut” from Machar’s forces and as result they have found more military arsenals.

He claims that Machar’s forces are continuously engaging their forces with the intention to overtake the Magenis but according to him their forces repulsed the enemy back and consequently Amut has fallen under their full control where they found military logistics.

“The SPLA (IO) office of information would like to inform the general public, especially the diehard supporters, Political Symphasizers and the grassroot levels across the country that, all these times around, many of you might have seen several attacks imposed on us at (Kitgwang) Magenis by the forces loyal to the former Chairman Dr. Riek Machar Teny, which completed received the last orders from their acting Chief to continue insistence attacks on the outskirt of (Kit-Gwang) Magenis, Tabaldi, Kombo-Zinki, Kazan, hoping to dislodge the main army HQs” Magenis SPLA_IO Spokesman said in a statement seen by Nyamilepedia.

“Moreover, the attacks which took place yesterday was the last attempt for them to control (Kit-Gwang) Magenis, but later on, they where terribly beaten, repulsed and neutralized the enemy and pursuing them upto their main base at the ring of the Sudanese border and led to the fall of “Amut” after a fierce battle” it added.

“After the fall of “Amut ” we found a huge military logistics that evolve the uniform and food logistics in the stores”, the statement emphasized.

According to William Gatjiath Deng, the scattered forces run deep to Sudan and it shall be upto them to either surrendered their weapons to the Sudanese army forces or snaking back at night to SSPDF military base at Kuek.
