August 9th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A South Sudanese woman has been honored by the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) for what has been referred too by the international agency as a hard work at the military hospital in the capital Juba.
According to an ICRC statement extended to the Nyamilepedia on Thursday, Rosemary Kadi Girnyang will be the third South Sudanese nurse to receive the Florence Nightingale medal, a prize that honors the courage and devotion to victims of nurses and nursing aides around the world.Rosemary received the medal from the hands of South Sudan President Salva Kiir on Martyr’s day.
“Rosemary has dedicated her life to helping others. She’s been a nurse for almost thirty years and with the ICRC since 2013. This prize celebrates her great work and dedicationtowards her patients and it is also a tribute to the hard work of all our ICRC colleagues in South Sudan”, said James Reynolds, ICRC head of delegation.
The ICRC supports the Juba Military Hospital since 2013 with a surgical team for weapon wounded as well as psychological and physiological support.
