South Sudan President in Beijing for Afro-Chinese summit

August 28th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardiit is in the Chinese capital Beijing for the third Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) which is due to start soon in the largest Chinese city and capital.

South Sudan Presidential Press Office announced that the President arrived in Beijing this morning and was accompanied by his wife First Lady Marry Ayen Mayardiit and may political and military leaders.

Several African leaders also arrived in Beijing for the summit.

President Salva Kiir is expected to meet President Xi Jingping and many African leaders on the sideline of the summit.

China has been one of the faithful friends of the South Sudan government and has remained so throughout the ongoing conflict opposing anti South Sudan resolutions at the United Nations Security Council.

Foreign Minister, Nhial Deng Nhial, Petroleum Minister , Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth, Minister of Roads and Bridges, Rebecca Joshua Okwaci, Minister in the Office of the President, Mayiik Ayii Deng also are part of the high-level delegation.
