South Sudan Police opens investigation into grenade attack in Yambio

October 5th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s police has announced that it has launched investigation into last week’s incident in Yambio in which a grenade attack let to death of 10 people and 32 others injured.

A person identified as Justin Angelo Gbaki was arrested in connection to the incident with several sources telling the Nyamilepedia that a love break up ignited the decision by the suspect to throw a grenade at a party.

In a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia, the governor of Gbudue state, Hon.Daniel
Badagbu Rimbasa strongly condemned the incident and called on the public to remain calm as the government gears up an investigation into what caused the deadly explosion at night.

Speaking at a press conference organized on Thursday, the Governor of Gbudue state
extended a condolence massage to the families and relatives of the victims who died
at the scene, and appealed to the survivors of the attack, not to hold a grudge against
the families of the suspected criminals.

The official in charge of the state revealed that, investigations are still ongoing, and
the matter is being looked into by the Government and relevant authorities in the area
until the criminals are brought to book.

South Sudan ongoing civil war has increased insecurity and lawlessness, with
majority of solders who always go against use of firearms.
