According to the senior official who refused to be identified for the fear of reprisal, Gen Akol Koor went to inspect the General situation in Khartoum and to meet the top military general Abdel Fattah al-Burhan who ousted the civilian leader, Prime Minister Dr. Abdallah Hamdok.

“The Director General of Internal security Bureau General Akol is now in Khartoum and he went there on Wednesday, he is expected to meet Burhan and other senior Sudanese security officers in the country ,” the source who requested to speak on condition of anonymity told Nyamilepedia from Juba.

South Sudan government is the midwife of the Sudanese peace talks and it’s not clear whether the military will work in accordance with the peace provisions but South Sudan has very little to condemn the coup.

The military coup in Sudan took place on 25th of October 2021 when the security forces arrested the Prime Minister and other top members of the transitional cabinet.

South Sudan government did not take side but issued a weak statement urging the two side to dialogue for the betterment of the Sudanese people.
