South Sudan army reiterates support for Sudanese coup leaders

May 3rd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s army on Tuesday reiterated its support for Sudanese coup leaders who ousted long-time leader Omar Hassan Ahmed al-Bashir last month following months of protests by citizens who have fed up with his 30-year old regime.

Speaking during a press conference in the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Wednesday, South Sudanese army chief General Gabriel Jok Riak said the leadership of South Sudan’s army and the people of South Sudan support the army in Sudan including their decision to remove al-Bashir from power.

“The leadership in South Sudan and the people of the republic of South Sudan supports our brothers in the Sudanese military for standing up for their people to create a democratic country. We support them and we will do whatever we can to see them succeed,” General Jok told journalist in Khartoum.
