April 15th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The South Sudan’s army chief of staff 1st Lt. Gen. James Ajongo Mawut has been rushed to the Kenyan capital Nairobi for treatment after battling unidentified sickness for the last three weeks.

A close family member told the Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity on Sunday that the army chief has been rushed to the Kenyan capital several days after battling a sickness at a Chinese clinic in Juba.

“Uncle Ajongo has been taken to Nairobi. He has been sick for the last three weeks and his health situation seemed not to be improving after being treated in a Chinese clinic for many days. The family decided to take him to Nairobi Kenya,” the family member said adding that the army chief is recovering since Saturday.

For his part, SPLA military spokesperson Lul Ruai Koang refused to comment when contacted by the Nyamilepedia evading our questions which we also sent to him through his email.

There has been allegations in the recent days in the social media that the South Sudan’s army chief’s health has been deteriorating for the last three weeks and social media users branded him as “late ” suggesting that he died.

However, family members fired back at “bad wishers” and denied that such a thing has not happened. They said Gen. Ajongo is still alive and recovering!
