Scores killed in Easter Lakes attack, Juba road ambush

August 14th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Several people have been killed and many others wounded in an attack in Eastern Lakes and road ambush between Bor and Juba, sources have said.

A resident of Eastern Lakes told the Nyamilepedia this morning that 13 people were killed when unidentified gunmen attacked a village near the state capital Yirol.

Around 13 people have been killed and as much as 35 people have been wounded after a group of armed men attacked [a] village near to Yirol town,” the resident said.

Although the Nyamilepedia could not reach state government authorities for confirmation, another resident confirmed the attack.

The resident suspected cattle raiders from southern unity saying a lot of cows have been stolen during the attack on the village.

In a related development, police in Juba have said a car traveling between Juba and Bor has been ambushed killed 12 people and wounding several others.
