Salva Kiir meets Egyptian Irrigation Minister

September 09, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan president, Mr. Salva Kiir, met the Egyptian Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aaty and his accompanying delegation today at the State House, J1, in the capital, Juba.

According to the insiders, president Salva Kiir and the Egyptians’ delegation focused mainly on strengthening the bilateral relationships between the two countries.

“They discussed reinforcing bilateral cooperation regarding water resources between the two countries.” Read part of the statement.

Speaking to media after the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aaty outlined that the meeting is a follow up on the joint projects under progress in South Sudan by Egypt.

The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Manawa Peter Gatkuoth said that President Salva Kiir applauded President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi for Egypt’s continuous support to South Sudan.

The Egyptian delegation delivered a consignments of humanitarian assistance for the most affected state of Jonglei and Pibor Administrative Area.

The Egyptians are strengthening ties with the new nation through defense and other cooperation ranging from water resources and agricultural sector to electricity, health and land ownership, among others, in South Sudan.
