Opposition Wau state government welcomes peace deal

August 7th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s SPLM-IO government of Wau State welcomed on Monday the peace agreement signed in the Sudanese capital Khartoum By President Kiir and SPLM-IO Chairman Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon.
On Sunday, South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon along with other representatives of armed and non-armed South Sudan opposition groups signed peace deal in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
The South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) and the SPLM (FDs) also signed the agreement despite early objection.
In a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia on Monday, the opposition state government spokesman and Minister of Information, Paulino Said Uku said the people of the Wau state welcomes the signing of the agreement.
“On the Occasion of the Signing of Khartoum Peace Agreement today on 05/08/2018, in the Friendship Hall, Wau Federal State Government has shown their joy in welcoming Peace in the Country as well as in the State,” he said.
