April 06, 2021(Nyamilepedia) — The Nuer Students’ Union in Universities and Higher Institutions in Arab Republic of Egypt condemns the recent killing of innocent civilians in Mayom county of Unity State by armed elements from Warrap State.
In their condemnation statement, the Nuer Students’ Union blames the military governor of Warrap State, Hon. Aleu Ayieny Aleu for arming the youth to attack innocent people.
“The military governor of Warrap state is the one who facilitates the killing of innocent civilians in Unity State. It’s a tragic loss to Nuer Community Worldwide, Bentiu Community and Bul Community in particular.” Said the Union’s Chairman, Mr. Ketket Koang Mut,
“The Office of the Nuer students’ Union in Universities and higher Institutions in Arab Republic of Egypt was shocked by these communal attacks and inhumane acts upon our innocence civilians in Mayom county.” Ketket continued.
Kektket affirms their solidarity with the victims of the attack.
“The office of the Nuer Students’ Union in Arab Republic of Egypt stands in solidarity with the aforementioned county and other counties facing the same tragedies of massive killings across the upper Nile region”. He said.
“We would also like to express our deepest heartfelt and sincere condolences to the victimized families of the Bul Community who have lost their loved ones.” Ketket further added.
The youth organization calls on TROIKA, IGAD and the international community to pressurize the parties to the peace agreement to implement the revitalized peace agreement.
“Lastly, we call upon the regional body, IGAD, TROIKA and the international community to urgently do whatever they can to pressure the revitalized transitional government of national unity to implement the revitalized peace agreement in letter and spirit.” The chairman of the Nuer Students’ Union in Universities and Higher Institutions added.
