NPTC conducts fundraising party in Juba

February 20th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s National Pre-Transitional Committee (NPTC) on Wednesday conducted a fundraising party to support the implementation of the peace agreement.

Last September, the government of President Salva Kiir signed a peace agreement with the armed groups to end the ongoing five-year old brutal civil war in South Sudan.

The NPTC was established by the agreement signed in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa and its mandate is to prepare for the establishment of the transitional government  expected this May.

Speaking to the Nyamilepedia this afternoon, a member of the NPTC said on the condition of anonymity that he fundraising ceremony was conducted in Freedom Hall in Juba.

The same source said it was attended by several business men saying nothing  one from the international community attended the party.

“Businessmen and women attended the fundraising but I didn’t see any one from the
international community this is maybe the notice was late but I believe probably next fundraising will involve every community,” the source told the Nyamilepedia.

Asked whether the NPTC has collected some money, the sources said it did collected some money but could not disclose because he is not authorized to talk to the media.

“Yes according to pledges the fundraising collected some amount but I can not disclose how much to you because I am not authorized to disclose this to the media,” he further said.

South Sudanese singer Duop Pur Duop sang during the ceremony the “CPA” song.
