September 24th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – There is no possibility for holdout opposition groups to join the ongoing peace process, ex-South Sudan SPLA chief Oyai Deng Ajak said.

This month, President Salva Kiir and main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar said from Juba where they conducted a face-to-face meeting that they decided to include General Paul Malong and General Thomas Cirilo in the peace process.

Speaking to Nyamilepedia on Monday, General Ajak said no possibility for the holdout opposition groups to join the ongoing peace process because the parties – according to his words – were forced by the government of Ugandan and its then counterpart in Sudan.

“Joining the peace process will not be possible because the parties were forced to sign the agreement by Ugandan and Khartoum,” Oyai said.

“If the signatories implement it successfully, we will all return to Juba as opposition,” he added.
