More than 20 gangs apprehended in Bor town.

October 11, 2021—The authorities in Jonglei, State capital Bor announced that they have arrested at least 28 suspected gangsters for causing havoc at some part of the town.

The police in Bor town confirmed that the suspects were arrested for their alleged involvement in igniting violence in the capital, Bor.

According to credible information received by Nyamilepedia , Brigadier General Ajak Ayuen Mach, the head of the joint operation unit in Bor confirmed to media that the accused were arrested in the wake of crackdown amid rising gang violence in Bor.

“We started this crackdown campaign six days ago. So far, we have 28 gang members in our detention. As a military officer, I was asked to head the joint operation because crimes are on the rise in Bor,” Ajak said.

He called on the local population in the area to cooperate with them in their crackdown campaigns so that the law and order are maintained.

According to Brig. Gen. Ajak, the exercise shall continue until safety is sustained in Bor town and its neighboring suburbs.

A resident of Bor town, who identified himself as Elijah Deng, applauded the move admitting that the town has been so peaceful since the campaign was launched over the last seven days.
