Aug 6, 2021 – The National Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Hon. Peter Mayen Majongdit is reported to have beaten his wife Aluel Garang, who is commonly known as Aluel Messi, a nickname she earned for being talented in soccer.Â
The Minister has been on the headlines for beating up Aluel since the issue first surfaced in May; however, these types of incidents are no longer a news to Mayen’s landlord and neighbors.
According to reports obtained by Eye Radio from Peter Mayen’s landlord, the minister arrived this evening around 4pm at Tura-Abyei Block2 Residential Area in Kuajok from Juba and began beating up Aluel for the second time in less than one week.
Aluel has reportedly managed to escape and her whereabouts remain unknown as she fears for her life.
Attempts to reach both Aluel and Mayen by our editorial team were not returned this evening but according to their neighbors the Minister must have inflicted more harm to Aluel.
The crisis in the Minister of humanitarian affairs and disaster management’s house became public a few weeks ago after Mayen stormed a football field and fired bullets over the open-air stadium where his wife was playing football.
Mayen was not sworn in recently as his MP portfolio was revoked by president Kiir.
His ministerial position is also in question as some politicians are accusing Mayen of failing to manage the humanitarian crisis in his house and for creating disasters instead of finding better solutions in Aluel’s case.
