Minister of Defense and CES governor agree to improve defense and security

Oct 12, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — On Thursday, the National Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Hon Angelina Teny met with Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony to discuss various security related matters regarding the nation in general and the state in particular.

While addressing the media after the meeting, the minister said that her visit was to brief Governor Emmanuel on her recent visit to Morta Training center in kajo-keji county prior to the forthcoming graduation of the forces. 

She described the graduation of forces as a progress amidst enormous challenges encountered in the training sites in the country.

Hon. Angelina assured Governor Adil that her ministry is ready to work with his governorship especially on security sector matters which are deemed necessary in fast tracking the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.

Hon. Angelino further also shared with Governor Adil on her ministry’s readiness and preparation to host the slated East African Community Military Games which will happen next year, 2021.

The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony took the opportunity to laud the efforts of the Defense and Veterans affairs ministry for fast tracking the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement and shaping the image of the country by indulging the forces on international standards which are highly recommended by the International bodies.

Adil also assured the minister that his Government is ready to coordinate and cooperate on any other matters within the security sector for peace and stability across the state.

Hon. Angeina had visited the Kajo-Keji area where Morta Training Centre and Panyume SPLA-IO bases are located. 

In her visit, she condemned the clashes happening in the area saying that South Sudan leadership is not ready to go back to war.
