Machar-allied youth leader resigns over marginalization

September 18th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – An opposition youth leader allied to SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny has resigned over what he said is lack of attention towards the youth.

Saied Awad Saied, the SPLM-IO deputy chairperson of the national youth league, said in a resignation letter extended to Nyamilepedia that he will however continue the fight against the regime in Juba.

I ….. have the honor to present my resignation from the post of deputy chairperson of SPLM/A (IO) youth league national office as of then date of this letter,” Saied said in his resignation letter extended to Nyamilepedia.

Saied further said youth in South Sudan constitutes around 70% of the population and vowed to fight until the youth win.

The youth of South Sudan represents more 70% of the population which is the majority. We as youth can’t give up until we win this case & we will continue to stand & fight to make our dreams reality,” Saied said.
