Kiir urges loyalists and supporters to avoid negative and hostile statements against opposition groups

August 13th 2018 (Nyamilepedia)  – South Sudan President,  Salva Kiir Mayardiit, urged on Monday the people and his associates not to utter negative and hostile statement against rebels groups which he said will come to Juba in the near future for peace implementation.

Kiir made this call on Monday morning at the State House while briefing the his staffs, during an event organized by the Department of Special Program and Public Relations in the Office of the President.

According to a statement by the country’s Presidential Press Unit, Kiir “directed the staffs of his office and the general public to welcome members of the opposition with an open heart as brothers and sisters at home.”

The President further called on all public sector employees and all the sectors of society to avoid hostile statements and hate speech with opposition members who will come to Juba soon to implement the peace agreement in the Country.

The statement further said President Like said he had agreed to the bloated government because of his desire to achieve peace in the country.

“The President said that he agreed to the proposal of five Vice-Presidents, and increase the number of the Parliamentarians to five hundred and fifty members in order to stabilize the Country and end the suffering of the people of South Sudan,” said the statement.

Peace and war both needs sacrifices

According to the statement, Kiir said peace and the war itself need sacrifices to achieve and wage pointing out that the implementation of the agreement will be carried out by a 3year transitional government whose term will expire with elections.

“The president said that peace needs sacrifices as well as the war. The President pointed out that the transitional period for the implementation of the peace agreement will be three years, after which the elections will be conducted for the people of South Sudan to choose who will be their President,” the statement said.
