The statement went on to state that the government officials urged the people of greater Equatoria  region to refrain from divisive politics as well as putting their political affiliationsaside to focus on the national agenda that will address issues surrounding the current political dispensation and move the country forward.

The leaders further urged the delegates to express their divergent views freely and in an orderly manner.

The delegates expressed excitement over the warm hospitality they received from the leaders and vowed to represent the voices of the voiceless in a very constructive manner and without hesitation.

The national dialogue is expected to have more than 500 delegates started today and will run for two weeks where the delegates are expected to tackle the issues that are affecting the people of South Sudan.

On the other hand, a large number of Equatorian stake holders especially those allied to the SPLM/A-IO, NAS and NDM may not attend the conference – leaving only those who are allied to the president to attend the conference.

Those who will not attend argue that the grounds are not levelled for peace, reconciliation and healing to hold.

The conference, however, will be attended by both locals and foreign dignitaries who include officials from the region, other parts of Africa and international partners.
