December 20th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government said on Thursday that the National Salvation Front (NAS) led by Gen. Thomas Cirilo Swaka is a terrorist organization saying the group has launched a ‘infrastructural’ warfare against South Sudan.

In recent days,  there has been fighting between the South Sudan government and opposition fighters loyal to NAS in the Equatoria region with both sides trading accusations over who violated a 2017 ceasefire deal.

In a statement issued on Thursday afternoon, South Sudan army spokesman, Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, said NAS is a threat to peace implementation saying the group has launched a infrastructural warfare as it destroyed a bridge in Yei River state.

“NAS is the biggest threat to smooth implementation of R-ARCSS in general and Transitional Security Arrangements in particular,” Lul said.  “NAS has declared infrastructural and educational warfare as manifested by deliberate destruction of Lomumba Bridge in Yei River State and killing of a school Teacher in Lobonok County of Jubek State.”

He said the National Salvation Front (NAS) as well as its leader is a terrorist organization that is a enemy of the people and the state alike calling for the neutralization of Gen. Thomas Cirilo and silencing of its spokesman Suba Samuel Manasse to prevent further security breakdown in the country.

“NAS is a terrorist outfit and its leader Gen. Thomas Cirilo is peoples and State enemy. From SSPDF’s perspective, Gen. Thomas Cirilo is a legitimate High Value Target that should be neutralized and NAS Spokesman must be silenced for glorifying acts of terror and polarization of the nation,” Lul partly stated in a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia.
