Chol Duang Chan tendered his resignation for an unknown reason saying it was time for him to engage in other activities outside the political circle.

This came at the time when his chairman led a delegation to Rome for a peace negotiation.

In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, Chan informed the public that he will no longer serve as SSUF/A Spokesperson under Malong, adding that it was a great opportunity for him to have served under what he called “wise leadership” of Mr. Malong for the two years.

“This is to inform my family, friends, colleagues and the general public that I have resigned as Spokesperson and members from South Sudan United Front/Army, SSUF/A under the leadership of Gen. Paul Malong Awan Anei,” Chan declared in his statement published on Facebook.

“It has been a great privilege to have served under the wise leadership of Gen. Paul Malong Awan for the last two years, particularly in the information and policy department,” he added.

The official stressed that it is the right time for him to step aside as South Sudan politics remained very obscure and hard to comprehend. He further acknowledged the tremendous support shown to him by his colleagues during his tenure and said he will now focus on the development of the country.

“Time has come for me to do other things,” I will still contribute towards nation-building and peace on different platforms “, he emphasized.

Mr. Chan joined SSUF/A two years ago and he was appointed as SSUF/A official Spokesman some months later following the resignation of her predecessor Nyamal Nyang.

Three days ago he uploaded a picture on his Facebook account stating that “SSUF/A Forever and South Sudan for Life”.
