Executive Director in the office of the Vice President dies in Nairobi, Kenya

Juba, South Sudan.

July 25, 2021 – A senior staff at the office of the Vice President for Youth and Gender Cluster has died in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

Hon. Chaat Paul Nul, the Executive Director in the office of Rebecca de Mabior, the Vice President for Gender and Youth cluster, who is currently in Tokyo, Japan, has succumbed to terminal cancer in Nairobi, Kenya.

According to a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, the office of the Vice President announced the passing on of the senior staff today stating that the late Executive Director passed on yesterday. July 24th, 2021.

“It is with great sadness that the Office of the Vice President, H.E. Rebecca N. De Mabior, announces the passing of our Executive Director, Hon. Chaat Paul Nul. Chaat succumbed to terminal cancer in Nairobi, surrounded by his close family and friends, yesterday evening” part of the statement reads.

“His kind spirit, sober wisdom, and avuncular nature created a loving atmosphere in our office, leading our staff to refer to him as “Uncle Chaat or Uncle ED. Throughout his lifetime, he served the people of South Sudan without hesitation whenever the country called on him.” the statement continued.

Paul was described as a courageous statesman who served his country with all his commitment and pride.

“As the cadre of our struggle, he proved what it means to live as the beacon of hope, joy, and love” they said.

“The Vice President, Mama Rebecca N. de Mabior, the staff of the Office of the Vice President and the government at large will miss him dearly” the statement inserted.

The office of the Vice President encourages the public to follow the family’s advice regarding the funeral and another arrangement for his burial.

Paul passed while the Vice President, Rebecca Mabior, who is also a close family member of the late, was representing the country in Tokyo, Japan.
