Egyptian officials travel to Wau to launch President Kiir’s livestock farm.

October 12,2021—A high-level delegation from the Egyptian Embassy in South Sudan has today traveled to Wau, the capital town of Western Bahr El-Ghazal tate, to launch Marial-Bai Livestock Farming Project for President Salva Kiir Mayardiit.

According to the information received by Nyamilepedia, the delegation is led by the Egyptian Irrigation Scheme Director-General and was accompanied by South Sudan’s minister for Culture, Ms. Nadia Arop.

“We come on an official visit with the delegation from the Embassy of Egypt, the head of Egyptian scheme in South Sudan for the implementation of the Egyptian Irrigation scheme in Marial-Bai, the farm of the President of the Republic.”, Minister of Culture Arop said after addressing the press.

The culture minister Arop said the scheme offered to President Kiir by the Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, will encourage and support the local communities through the irrigation scheme by supplying water for agricultural purpose.

“The presidential cattle were transferred from Juba some years back and they are here in Marial-Bai in Wau and for us as a government of South Sudan, we thank the Arab Republic of Egypt for the implementation of its irrigation program for the president of South Sudan,” Arop added.

On his part, the Director-General for the Egyptian Irrigation scheme in South Sudan, Mr. Eissawy Mohamed Elshendwy, said “they have arrived today in Wau to open the Marial-Bai livestock farming project” for the president.

“This project of 55 fedans is the responsibility of Egyptian irrigation schemes project in South Sudan, it is very important especially in the side of improving livestock quality in South Sudan.”,Mohammed stressed.

According to Mohamed, the project will be replicated across the country.

Bilateral relations between Egypt and South Sudan are significantly improving. South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit traveled to Egypt on Sunday on a two-day visit.

During the press conference in Cairo, Kiir described Egypt as his “Second Home” and blamed Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed for not resuming talks with Sudan and Egypt over Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) which is causing diplomatic standoff between the three countries.

The South Sudanese president seems to have had a succesfull mission with the Egyptians begin to expedite the implementation of their promises unlike the Ethiopia leaders whom Kiir accused of failing to commit to their promises.
