February 8th, 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A defecting SPLM-IO diplomat who left the main armed opposition group last month has returned to Juba this afternoon accusing SPLM-IO leader, Machar, of failing them.
Last month, Yohanis Musa Puok, SPLM-IO Representative to the state of Qatar accused Machar’s wife, Angelina Teny, of illegally controlling the movement’s affairs.
Speaking upon arrival at Juba International Airport, Puok said they are coming to implement the peace agreement signed by President Kiir and opposition groups in September last year.
He said their decision to abandon Machar’s group is because Machar who is the leader has failed them claiming that Machar is not for peace.
“We are coming to join the people of South Sudan in the implementation of the peace agreement signed by President Salva Kiir Mayardiit with the opposition groups,” he said while speaking in Arabic.
“Machar has failed us and our decision to quit the group is in the best interest of peace because there is no sense of peace in Machar’s mind. His advisors are not doing it well,” he added.
