Oct 10, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — The governor of Central Equatoria Sate, Gov. Emmanuel Adil, has issued a statement ordering for the suspension of the Land Allotment and Demarcation in his State.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the suspension will affect the first, second, third and Fourth classes of the residential areas within Central Equatoria state.
The Gubernatorial decrees order that the allotment will be paused until state ministers and county officials are appointed.
“I, Emmanuel Adil anthony Wani, Governor of Central Equatoria State, do hereby issue this Gubernatotorial order for the suspension of lands allotment and demarcation of first, second, thirs and fourth classes residential areas within Central Equatoria State with effect from the day of signatures until the appointment of the ministers and counties’ Commissioners,” Emmanuel Wadi said.
The governor called on the ministry of Housing, land and public utilities and the ministry of Local Government and Law enforcement, which include Commissioner of police, head of legal administration and Public prosecution attorney of the Central equatorial state to take the necessary steps to implement the order.
The order has taken effect from yesterday, Friday 9th October 2020.
Land grabbing in South Sudan’s Equatorian region has claimed lives as senior generals and members of the armed forces try to grab land from other owners.
In Shirkat, a land dispute claimed more than six lives and wounded many others within less than 24 hours between June 2nd and June 4th.
The Governor, however, did not explain why his office had to take this decision.
