August 08, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s former lost boy, Peter Biar Ajak, who was detained for 18 months in South Sudan’s capital Juba, has gone viral on social media over the last one week after arriving in the United States but according to press secretary, Ateny Wek Ateny, Biar desperately needed the opportunity to gain entry into the US.

Ateny admits that Biar was being monitored by the National Security because he had close ties with Kerbino Wol, a businessman-turned-rebel, who was killed for rebelling against the government two months ago.

According to Ateny Wek, Biar and Kerbino declared rebellion against the government while in prison and despites that he was pardoned by the president, the national security still had to monitor his activities after Wol formed his “October 7” rebel movement.

“Understandably, Peter seems to have other reasons for fleeing to the United States for the second time. Primarily, Peter was associated with Late Kerbino Wol Agok who declared a rebellion against the Government in June 2020. He probably fears the state authorities would monitor or investigate him for a potential involvement in the just foiled insurgency.” Ateny Wek explains.

In addition, Ateny Wek believes that Peter Biar lost his American’s Green Card status and passport in 2011 for overstaying outside the United State and this fabrication could have been his only opportunity to regain his Green Card status back.

“Secondly, Peter lost his residency status following a long absence from the US. And for him to secure a return, he has to make up stories to gain reentry.” Ateny Wek said.

“Our investigation reveals that Peter has had residency problems in the US in the past. For example, in 2010, upon return to the US, Peter’s Sudanese passport and US Green Card were confiscated by the US Department of Homeland Security for having overstayed outside the country. He was then ordered to appear before competent authorities in March 2011.” Ateny Wek continued.

Kiir’s press secretary believes that Biar could have sensationalized his security situation purposely to regain his residency back in the United States.

“Therefore, it is only intuitive that Peter would sensationalize his security situation in South Sudan in order to regain residency in the United States.” Ateny continued.

Mr. Wek has labelled Peter Biar as a paranoid among other mental health disorders. He has also accused him of corruption, money laundry and illegal conducts that include spying on the government and national security.
