August 3, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s holdout opposition group, National Salvation Front (NAS), led by General Thomas Cirilo Swaka, has condemned Saturday’s killing of three siblings by an unknown criminal in the capital Juba’s neighborhood of Rock city.

Three siblings of 3, 5 and 7 were murdered during the evening hours of Saturday after their mother left for a nearby clinic.

No arrests have been made so far.

In a statement this evening, General Cirilo’s NAS, said the group is saddened by the gruesome killing and blamed the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit for failure to provide security in the capital and across the country.

“The Leadership and members of National Salvation Front (NAS) are saddened by the barbaric killing of the three (3) young children of Mr. Edward Andrew Jami and Ms. Gilda Gideon in Juba, Rock City residential area on 1st August 2020,” the statement seen by Nyamilepedia partly reads.

“The savagery killing of the three (3) children Naomi (9) years old; Blessing Seven (7) years; and Nor Edward Jami Four (4) years old epitomizes the highest moral decadence and serious state of anarchy that South Sudan has degenerated into,” it added.

It said the “regime of President Salva Kiir fosters an environment in which individuals and groups of people feel free to take law into their own hands with impunity. In fact, the government all along has been sponsoring state crimes against the people of South Sudan in the form of ‘Unknown Gunmen’.

“The recent assassination of Prosecutor General of Upper Nile State Mr. Thomas Aban Akol Ajawin is an example of this type of crime. NAS, therefore, condemns in the strongest term these ongoing relentless killings and crimes in the country and assures the people of South Sudan that the day will come when justice prevails.”
