February 6th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Authorities of the main armed opposition group, the SPLM-IO, in Unity State said on Tuesday that they have arrested a ring leader of a criminal gang involved in cattle theft.

Col. Dhoal Koryom, a spokesman for SPLM-IO government of Unity State told the Nyamilepedia on Tuesday that they were able to return seven cows he said were stolen by a criminal gang on Saturday.

“Actually, there was no fighting, the cows were stolen by a youth group loyal to the SPLM/A IO and the said youth are from Koch County. They stole the cows on the 2nd of February 2019,” he told the Nyamilepedia on Tuesday.

He further said the ring leader which he said he will not name was arrested and the cattle were returned to their owners saying his government will punish anyone involved in criminal activities in the state.

“I can tell you that the ring leader is imprisoned and the Movement is therefore ready to hunt down any element who do not want a safe stay for our local population,” he added.
