October 14th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The South African vice-president, David Dabede Mabuza, who is also the Deputy Chairperson of the African National Congress (ANC) is expected in the South Sudanese capital Juba today, Sunday, according to insiders within the South Sudan Presidency.

The South African politician is expected to hold talks with South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardit over the ongoing peace process and he is also expected to meet other peace partners.

South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon signed a peace agreement in September in an effort by the regional bloc, the IGAD to end the ongoing South Sudanese civil war.

Following the signing of the agreement, the international community, and the Troika in particular voiced concern about the commitment of South Sudanese parties to peace agreement citing lack of political will to achieve peace in the country.

“During this visit, the Deputy President will engage with President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan, the leadership of political formations in South Sudan, the members of the diplomatic corps and other institutions created to monitor the implementation of the Peace Agreement,” one source told the Nyamilepedia on Sunday morning.

The South African vice president is expected to tour IGAD member states to mobilize for support of the fragile agreement signed by South Sudanese parties in September.

South Sudan government last week extended invitation to African heads of states and government for peace celebrations in the capital Juba.
