Prominent Sudanese opposition leader meets Machar in Khartoum

October 1st 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The head of the Reform Now Movement, and former Sudanese Presidential Advisor Dr. Ghazi Salah Al-Din on Saturday led a high-level delegation of his party to visit South Sudan’s First Vice President designate and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny in his residence in the Sudanewse capital Khartoum.

According to the Khartoum based Al-Intibaha newspaper, Dr. Salah Al-Din was accompaigned by Dr. Fateh al-Rahman al-Fadil, a Memeber of Parliament and member of the Political Bureau and Mahmoud Al-Jamal, Director of the Dr. Salah’s Office.

The Sudanese opposition leader congratulated Machar, and the people of South Sudan on the occassion of the signing of the long-awaited revitalized agreement on the resoluition of the conflict in South Sudan which is a part of the IGAD peace efforts to end the ongoing civil war according to the newspaper.

Dr. Ghazi Salah urged Machar as well as other South Sudanese parties to respect and committ to the implementation of the agreement signed in the Ethiopian capitral Addis Ababa, Ethiopia early last month.

Dr. Salah added that the peace agreement will restore peace and stability in the young African country which he said is vital for the stability of the region and the neighboring Sudan in particular.

He urged the international community to support the implemetation of the agreement so as to pave way for the smooth implementation of the agreement.
