SPLA soldier kills fellow girlfriend in Rumbek
July 11th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – A Soldier belonging to the South Sudan’s Army, the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA), has killed his fellow girlfriend after ordering her to enter a money transfer shop and spraying the shop with bullets afterwards, a government officials told Nyamilepedia this afternoon from Rumbek.
The official, who preferred anonymity, did not mention the soldier by name nor did he state the reason why the SPLA sergeant from a Battalion stationed in the former Lakes State capital, Rumbek, killed his girlfriend.
“The soldier found her girlfriend standing by a shop where money transfer were done in central Rumbek. He told her to enter the shop and pure a lot of bullets in the shop killing his girlfriend and two other people,” the official told the Nyamilepedia.
Another official told the Nyamilepedia also on the condition of anonymity that the SPLA soldier has been arrested and that the relevant authorities are investigating the incident trying to find out what was the motive behind the killing of innocent person.
“The soldier has been arrested and the concerned authorities are investigating him about why he opened a fire in a public place and why he killed his own girlfriend in addition to the other two people,” the official further said.
The official pointed out that the soldier did not steal money or looted the market adding that until this afternoon, his motives are still unclear.
