President Salva Kiir Kicks Off The Transition Government With More Violations To The Agreement
May 04, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan’s Transitional President, Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit, kicks off the new government with a few violations to a peace agreement he signed in August 2015.
According to a “Republican Decree” read on the national television, Salva Kiir has unilaterally appointed ten presidential advisors as follow:
1- Daniel Awet Akot, for Military Affairs
2- Tor Deng Mawien, Advisor for Decentralization & Intergovernmental Linkages
3- Tut Kew, for Security Affairs
4- Dr. John Gai, for Educational Affairs
5- Aggrey Tisa Sabuni, for Economic Affairs
6- Lawrence Korbandy, for Legal Affairs
7- Dr. Anne Itto, for Agriculture and Food Security
8- Tahir Bior, for Religious Affairs
9- Nhial Deng Nhial, Senior Advisor and Presidential Envoy
10- Clement Wani Konga, Special Affairs Advisor

According to the armed opposition, this violates a peace agreement the two parties signed in August 2015.
The five presidential advisors and envoy, according to the compromised peace agreement, were to be shared by the two main warring parties, however, the President did not consult with the First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar.
In addition to the big number, which seems to only accommodate more politicians, the ten advisors are all from Salva Kiir’s side.
While President Salva Kiir asks Mr. Machar and the opposition to “cooperate” in the Transitional government, some politicians have already taken the matter to social media.
“Is Salva Kiir too dumb to the point that he needs 10 advisors?” Asks one commentator on social media.
While supporters of SPLM/SPLA-IO calls for Salva Kiir to resign, others calls on the president to reverse his unilateral decrees.
