Gen. Peter Gatdet Forms His Provisional Military Council, Promotes Himself and His Comrades
Dec 24, 2015(Nyamilepedia) —- The defected SPLA General, who protested the massacres of his tribesmen at the onset of the current conflict in 2013 with ranks of Major General has recently promoted himself in Khartoum to the rank of First Lieutenant General and promoted his comrades to ranks of Lt. General.
Gatdet has promoted major general Gabriel Tanginye, Major General Gat-hoth Gatkuoth and Brigadier General James Malith Gatluak to rank of Lieutenant General.
1st Lt. Gen. Gatdet has then established the Military Council of his new rebel movement, The South Sudan Armed Forces(SSAF) and its political wing, Federal Democratic Party(FDP) with himself as its provisional chairman and commander-in-chief.
“In pursuant to the powers conferred upon me by the Provisional Political Committee of Federal Democratic Party (FDP) and provisional Military Council of South Sudan Armed Forces(SSAF), I 1st Lt. General Peter Gatdet Yaka, Chairman of the Provisional Political Committee (FDP) and Chairman of Provisional Military Council(SSAF), hereby order the establishment of the Military Council” Gen. Gatdet states in the Establishment Order signed on December 5th, 2015
Gatdet has appointed his comrade Lt. Gen. Gathoth Gatkuoth as his Deputy Chairman of Provisional Military Council and the Chief of Military Administration of SSAF/FDP.
In the same order, Gatdet has assigned his senior anyanya veteran, Lt. Gen. Gabriel Gatwech Chan famously known as Tanginye, and Lt. Gen. Malith Gatluak to be members of Provisional Military Council and Chief of Military Operation and Logistic, respectively.
In a separate order, signed on December 5th, Gatdet has established three zones of operations in South Sudan and assigned their commands to each member of his Military Council.
While he identifies Greater Upper Nile as Zone One under Tiger Operation, the SSAF aims to establish Zone Two and Three in Greater Equatoria and Greater Bhar el Ghazal under Jamus and Rhino Operations, respectively.
While Gen. Gatdet remains in Khartoum, all his comrades are based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Gen. Gatdet, who has defected several times, has been sanctioned by the United States, European Union and the UN Security Council. His comrades are too identified by the international community.
In an interview with Lt. Gen. Gat-hoth Gatkuoth in Nairobi, which will be released shortly on Nyamilepedia, the generals are opened up for dialogue, however, Gathoth maintains that the generals are looking for friends to arm them to continue the war.
