August 22, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — On behalf of the SPLM/A- IO Mission Office in the United Republic of Tanzania, and on my own behalf, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Chairman and Commander in Chief of SPLM/A His Excellency comrade Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon, for taking the side of peace instead of war. In the same manner, I thanks and appreciate our entire leadership, supporters, friends, sympathizers both inside and outside the borders of South Sudan for standing behind the visionary, charismatic and democratic leader for the sake of ending the suffering of our people. August 17th, 2015 will go down in history as the day when the peoples’ movement together with other peace loving parties, civil and faith based organizations and people all over the world decided to end the suffering of our people. My thanks and appreciation also goes to IGAD-PLUS, AU, UN and other stakeholders for working hard with the warring parties to end the conflict, your support for the people of South Sudan will never be forgotten.

The SPLM/A under the able leadership of His Excellency comrade Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon sign the peace not because it satisfies the movement but because he is committed to ending the suffering and killing of South Sudanese. Furthermore, on August 17th, 2015, the world has witness the courage and commitment of the resistance movement to end the conflict which was imposed on the South Sudanese through political settlement. The anti-peace demonstration organize by the enemies of peace did not materialize in Juba and this shows that our people are for peace and not for war. The office would like to call President Salva Kiir to show leadership and courage by signing the document even before the two weeks time he gave so that our people can have peace.

Lastly but not the least, the office would like to appeal to anti- peace elements within the Juba regime to put South Sudan above their personal interest because South Sudan is bigger than each one of us. The office calls upon President Salva Kiir to stay away from those against peace, and urge him to join hands with the world to ending the suffering of South sudanese people.

Thank you and May peace rain in South Sudan.
