Peace Ambassador Welcomes the SPLM Party step to reunify in Arusha, Tanzania

Jan 22, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Upon return from his private visit to Lietchuor Refugee Camp in Western Region of Gambella – Ethiopia, Gatwech said that he is so impress to see the warring factions to ink for re-unification of the party in Arusha, Tanzania.

Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Secretary General Abdulrahman Omari Kinana admitted the sides had yet to reach complete agreement.

“Ninety-five percent of the document has been agreed, only five percent is pending. This five percent will need the consultation, the advice, and the wisdom of the leaders of the region,” he said according to Voice of America.

Peace Ambassador Gatwech Koak Nyuon said that although there is mixed expectations as SPLM leaders meet in Arusha, Tanzania …still there is hope for change.

“Any step toward peace in South Sudan should be valued, respected and appreciated.” He said. He also praises the Tanzania’s Ruling Party for organizing the yearlong ideology, which may lead to the re-unification of the SPLM party.

“Thanks to Tanzania’s majority Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party and South Sudan’s Ruling Party for realizing the re-unification of the party as one of the tools to bring peace in the youngest Nation.” The statement partly read.

Mr. Nyuon said that there is high demand for refugees themselves more than anybody in the World to see peace happening in South Sudan.

Lietchuor Refugee Camp is one of the three camps under Gambella Region, which hosted more than 50 thousands South Sudanese.

Peace Ambassador appreciated the roles played by IGAD and other partners for firmly pushing the truce between the warring factions.

The next and the last round of talk is [are] due to resume next week on 30 January in Ethiopian Capital, Addis Ababa.
