Sept 10, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Despite acknowledging the compromise peace agreement as the optimal option to end the conflict, South Sudan’s Vice President, Mr. James Wani Igga, announced that he still holds reservations on CPA-II.

While addressing the Equatorian community at Nyakuron Cultural Center on Wednesday, Wani decries what he sees as an internal or regional conspiracy against his leadership in the country.

Uneasy that the country’s first Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, is yet again imposed on Mr. Wani, the vice president, who traveled to Addis Ababa to represent President Kiir after the later declined to meet the signing dateline, believes that he should have been consulted on the decision.

“There are about 16 of them[reservations], so I am one of the people very reserved because IGAD has decided to impose Riek Machar on my head,” Wani said.

“I can swear that I have never and never been consulted by IGAD whether I can accept Riek to be put on my head or not. That thing didn’t happen.” He added.

Consulting the president on how the IGAD-Plus mediators reached their conclusion to impose Dr. Machar on him, Kiir convinced Igga that he has a document from his Equatorian people demanding for the position of second Vice President and the speaker of national assembly, a position that he served in the past.

Although he is yet to see such document, Mr. Wani believes that President Kiir is keeping a copy that he can produce any time.

“According to that president, he said he has the document, and he can produce it at any time. So it is not me, they have never consulted me.” Wani said.

According to Hon. Igga, some Equatorian leaders served IGAD-plus forum with this document that demands the two prominent positions for the people of Equatoria during the upcoming transitional government of national Unity.

Aligning his humbleness with the demands of the armed opposition, Igga reminds the Equatorians that the country badly needs institutional reforms, standardization and modernization of the institutions for the government to be able to deliver services to the people.

Mr. Igga, who has been a junior to Dr. Machar since their respective joining of SPLM/SPLA in 1984 and 1985, has been loud that he cannot afford “giving up his position” again to Machar.

Given the content of the Compromise Peace Agreement document, Wani is happy with the deal and encourages his colleagues in the government to spread the word and also help in the implementation.

This man (Wani Igga) got confused in the middle of Dinka kingdom. Last week he said gov’nt should drop reservation but today he said he is one of those who are reservations. Why you were not involved and others Eqotorian were consulted is because you are just there as comedian.

I said he will say something different next time & He did. Equatorians need a man like bokosoro. THey should reinstate him. Otherwise wani Iga is useless. Weak people are no good for anything except to be used by dictators.

You and some others commentators were right on. He has just contradicted his earlier statements calling citizens to rally behind peace and for his government to drop any reservations. The peace lovers on both sides have not even finished clapping for Mr VP, Igga nor are they done hailing him for being a heroic peace advocate. I think this last statement shows that our small VP has been coerced into making such career killing statement. Expert would say its also a political suicide when a politician flips and flops at timed like this. Disappointment at best. Some supporters even called him “My little man”. RIGHT! So little of his stand.
