Feb 27, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —- I have no doubt that our collective efforts and confidence are much needed in the road to recovery and restoration of our beloved country from the current crippled and begging South Sudan to the economically booming again and ever sustainable South Sudan, a one that will regain its rightful place as the destination for business and tourism and the one that will start attracting various regional and international investors one extra time. Well, this time and around, it should be a complete different approach and direction.

Peace is the corner stone of all we dream about as part of humankind, however, I know that a lot are still being questioned about the current peace agreement and I know that most of us are entering this peace era with doubtful minds and unsatisfied interests. However it needs two or more enemies to work together, willing and serious enough on how an incomplete, non-inclusive and shaky peace can be developed and made inclusive and one that would rein in all the questions left unanswered and the remained conflicts not addressed or even the new breeding ones that are still yet to be contained.

Kiir and Machar might just need to put their old grudges behind for the sake of their country and people and start a complete new chapter. Well, as we embark on uncertain road to peace, the most important concern to most of us is what would be the consequences of the rush to formation of TGoNU without a satisfactory agreement on issue of the 28 states or the completion of transitional constitution which should be the working ground of TGoNU. Some are objecting such a move and insisting that the 28 states and constitution issue must be resolved first before the formation of TGoNU given Juba consistent records of dishonoring and provocations. Well, here is why we have to go forward even though unsatisfied and in doubts, the country is economically collapsing and the consequences are dire and hence the international community in the name of JMEC has argued the urgent formation of TGoNU as an emergency rescue. The debate on 28 states and the constitution could take years and with South Sudan in intensive care, such a trend is unthinkable, at least from JMEC perspective.

My confidence in our peace loving leader Dr. Machar is unshaken and that he knows his way out on how to bring South Sudan and its suffering people back to normalcy, peace and stability despite the unjustified enmity of the many hidden wolves here and there. In the a few several months, he has been so resilient amidst continuous provocations of anti-peace forces both within his own movement, the SPLM/A-IO and the wolves within the government of President Kiir Mayardit, However, Mr. Machar was tirelessly busy touring regional and world capitals, gearing and rendering the needed support to the peace agreement. Dr. Machar knows very well the agreement is incomplete and is faced with many challenges reflected in the continuous derailing attempts from within and without South Sudan and specifically from those whose interests are in conflict with the agreement at local, regional or international levels. However Mr. Machar seems to believe all those challenges don’t amount to a return to war rather than pursuing a political and diplomacy approach to rein in all the issues of concern.

Well that is really a great approach, but is it enough without the cooperation of Mr. Kiir? That’s the question at stake and it takes two at least to make peace possible and unless president Kiir has decided to become a genuine peace partner and in control of his many powerful political allies and anti-peace groups in Juba and in the region, the challenges to current peace agreement are real and constitute serious threat to success of current peace efforts being aggressively waged by Dr. Machar and the international community. President Kiir needs to move boldly to make the political sky in Juba clear and peace friendly and if he is truly interested in peace, he then must act as an authority above his subordinates and political allies that are continuously undermining the peace efforts, creating many road blocks and starting new conflicts in many forms just to derail the whole peace process. Well, wait a minute, Kiir may be aware of all these and he might just need a game and time, let us wait and see.

However, President Kiir needs to expand his attention and control outside of state house (J1), he seems to be confined in J1, he seems to have totally lost control of some South Sudan’s territories and seems not in touch with whatever is being done there by his subordinates neither does he show like he feels the suffering of some South Sudanese in areas outside Juba or even within Juba itself. Innocent South Sudanese people are being killed on daily basis, money looted constantly in millions of dollars and all these by people he did appoint and have the power and authority to remove, demote and persecute but he is absolutely numb, passive, inactive and indecisive and this is the major reason why most people in this country think and believe whatever happens in this country from lawlessness, mismanagement and corruption happen with his knowledge or by his decisions otherwise he should act differently. Well, If we give president Kiir the benefit of the doubt and presume that he is being controlled by a mob of political and business, local and regional mafia which have diverted the whole country to personal and selfish financial gain, playing with tribalism and the power fears of the president then the man could be a clear victim of his drinking mates whose in actual fact ruined and robbed South Sudan at a day light, well that’s likely but still yet to be proven.

South Sudan needs peace and more peace and nothing but peace and with that in mind it is no longer an excuse whether we are dealing with fools, tyrants or greedy corrupts who regard their selfish interests are in contrast with the current peace efforts. Peace in South Sudan must prevail. However, the peace we are talking about is an inclusive, sustainable and everlasting one that leaves no single South Sudanese behind, a one that must be achieved through a peaceful, smart and professional political process and that will rein in all the issues and conflicts in this country, a phase to phase process, step by step, slowly but surely and that is the beginning of the new prosperous South Sudan.

An Individual has not started living fully until they can rise above the narrow confines of individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of humanity. Every person must decide at some point, whether they will walk in light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness. This is the judgment: Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?’

These wise words from Mr Marin Luther King

And the key for South Sudan, “True peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of justice”.

Justice for all, an end to impunity, and and to draconian National Security organs operating outside outside the legal system, by empowering police tand the judiciary to enforce the quite brliiant existibg constitution. That means even bringing the highest official to justice when crimes are comitted.

Who has seen any concrete initiativesin this regard in the last few years? – No One

Peace and harmony are best shown in deeds not by uttering empty words.
