August 14, 2015 (Nyamilepedia)—The Nuer Council of Elders (NCE) would like to take this opportunity to dismiss, condemn media propaganda perpetuating splits in the SPLM/A IO. We categorically denounce such allegations as true lies manufactured by agents of Juba Regime.

In light of this unfortunate lie, the Nuer Council of Elders want to make it clear to the entire Nuer Community worldwide, regional and international bodies and; to all the south Sudanese diversity that such allegations circulated in different media outlet portraying splits within the movement of the people are just mere propaganda orchestrated by enemy of peace as a mechanism to divert efforts by IGAD to reach for a meaningful approach that can end the twenty one month conflict.

Furthermore, NCE believe that the recent changes within SPLM/A IO ranks are normal in any set up and should not be used as political grenades against the movement.

We also want to apprise the general public that the populace of Nuer community are staunch supporters and shall continue to commit their unwavering allegiance to the leadership of SPLM/A IO under Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon.

We urge all the 64 tribes of south Sudan to rise up in unity, and collectively work hard to reach the level of democracy that our country deserves.

The Nuer Council of Elders (NCE) also want to remind everyone that we cannot afford to act contrary to the cause of the struggle against the dictatorial, genocidal, corrupt, inept tribal leadership of Salva Kiir Mayardit.

Equally on the same note, we cannot support the very government that has violated the supreme law of our land contrary to article 11 of south Sudan’s Transitional Constitution which says “Everyone has the inherent right to life, dignity and the integrity……which shall be protected by the law and no one shall arbitrarily deprived of his or her life’’.

Therefore, the massacre of thousands of innocent souls in cold blood on 15th December 2013 shall not be in vain just for the sake of individuals who wanted to utilize Juba Regime’s strategy of divide and surrender within SPLM/A IO.

Finally, the Nuer Council of Elders (NCE) on behalf of the entire Nuer community want to plainly warn the public that we shall not entertain or embrace any one or a group of ill- interests who want to launch any parallel movement apart from the freedom fighters movement (SPLM/A IO).

Signed on behalf of the Council

Elder Hon. Gabriel Yoal Dok

Since there is what call Dinka Elders and Nuer elders, why Equatorians to form Bari, zande, Lotuko, Acholi, Mundari, Pojulu, Kakwa, Lulubo, Toposa, Muru, Zande, Makaraka, Mundu etc elders?

Biajuron,

Please note, that all these communities of course have their own elders councils that primarily seek to address purely communal issues. The difference with the Jienge Council of Elders is that it has become a quasi “parliament of the South Sudan” taking the very mandate the National Assembly was to have in making decisions of national conern and interest. These other communities have refrained from interfering into national matters and decisions, whereas the Jienge Council of Elders thinks they own, manage and control the South Sudan. Here is then where pervasiveness, greed, tribal hegemony and lunacy supercedes nationalism. The best the JCE would do for now, is try to resolve the buring issues in jienge heartland: revenge killings, hunger, anarchy, lack of development (despite stealing all the oil monies), cattle rustling, underage marriages etc..Since when did less intelligent and semi-literate jienge elders make reasonable decisions at national level, if they have failed to develop their own areas? These are serious questions. The JCE only recently emerged as a tribal tool to monopolize political power, it never existed before. sad enough, the jienge youth have followed their elders and have not put up any questiions on the JCE legitimacy. In the end of the day, the South will unfortunaley have to split along these ethnic lines. In other words, I have no problems, if the JCE gets down to addressing “luak issues” and leave good policy making and implementation to good thinkers from Equatoria

Tam-Tam box. That is very very complicated to form because they speak different Dialogues (LANGUAGES) unless the so-called Bari or Lotuko become official LANGUAGE for them. I think Joseph Lagu should have join Dinka Elders because he speaks very good Dinka language. It is better for them to form South Sudan Council of Elders. (The Mormonism Chruch Elders to me).

Eqautoria and Juba are belong to South Sudan. The government gave best opportunities since then to Eqautoria.Make sure that a development will go to all South Sudan in future,Capital will go to diference place in Future and Juba will still be commerial city in future were you will work for Foreign companies for over 30 to 45 years.I am sure you Eqautorians going to work for International Industries, but if your people don’t want to work then the companies will bring foreign workers to work in your Equatoria and your people stay poor.
Please those Elders were Officials in Southern government for years and most of them have also got married from Equatoria,so go and tell them to leave and also my family are not in disperate situation and they never been to Equatoria either. They are cattle keepers and Farmers. Nobody from my family died of hunger since my first generation and never been behind BARS never. Learn some about all South Sudanit seems to me your education is like a joke.

Agamut,

The diversity in Equatoria is the very reason, why people in Equatoria have learnt to be tolerant, understanding and having respect for each other. Had it not been for these special virues and qualities, there would be no South Sudan at all. Now the very jienges who think they are organised and have a Jienge Council of Elders are more comfortable in Equatoria lands. Think of jienge Areas, there is only: hunger, anarchy, revenge killings underdevelopment etc. Only when jienges learn to live with other peoples can they learn to be tolerant, respectful and thankful. These are virtues that are dearly missed in jienge heartlands and so no any ordinary Southerner or even foreigner will want to live there, even some jienges like you dont want to live in their own “luaks” anymore.

Don’t you let yourself down and very primitive. You need to change because most those Elders were officials in South Government and had married from you, they are simply Mixed-Race. Stop humiliated yourself.
Those areas were very Healthy,a gift from God,free vis, free fruits, milk and free meats, but Dinka don’t eat meats everyday that is why they are thealthy than your big cities. You Equatorians will be behind in future and poor.Working is a part of struggle, try hard you will change your life. Your talk is very poor because poverty have change you.Do some before it too late because competition is going to be very high.

Good decision by the elders. The generals were really confused by few thives in SPLM IO who have no vision at all. How can they make such a bad decision in this critical time. They must be working for the Juba group. Anyways the rest of the public should not be confused & furstrated. SPLM IO should focus on their military option from now on.

John, suppose to be in that manner but those two what call council of elder have an idea that South Sudan is their own property in which federalism is solution to this two community elders. Hence its a nation not luak.
