Feb 3, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — On behalf of the larger, silent and suffering majority of the People of Equatoria, we the undersigned sons and daughters of Equatoria South Sudanese Community in Exile and the Diaspora, hereby express our bitter concern and categorically reject the statement by a lobby group of Equatorian beneficiaries of the government in Juba. We accordingly underscore the following to set the record straight:

  1. It is out of question that this group of self-interest lobbyists, hiding under the auspices of the current Vice President and three governors of Western Equatoria State, Central Equatoria State and Eastern Equatoria State are feeling unsettled with the rapidly changing political landscape under the weight of the IGAD-mediated peace talks in Addis Ababa, fearing that the political landscape might change to their disadvantage. This lobby group has been rallying a group of their supporters and beneficiaries of nepotistic practices and their extended family members in a desperate bid to maintain their status quo and continue milking the ailing cow that is South Sudan.
  1. The shameless lobbyists should be aware that Equatorians in particular, and South Sudanese in general, are closely monitoring their moves and know who the members of the group led by the Vice President and three-mentioned state governors, cabinet ministers and members of parliament are. These are people addicted to accumulation of ill-gotten wealth who are desperate to maintain the ill-famed government in Juba.
  1. Equatorians are not so myopic as to neglect the root causes of the conflict in South Sudan and the thousands of innocent citizens massacred in cold-blood by state sponsored militia. Equatorians are fully aware that what drives the lobbyists is the sheer quest to continue basking in opulence with their extended family members in foreign cities, while at the same time fearing the imminent accountability for pillaging the resources of the country.
  1. It should be realized that the real interest, the real cause and hope for Equatoria rests in the current movement against Salva Kiir Mayardit and his corrupt cohorts in Juba. Barely two months ago, Equatorians met in a caucus at Pagak in Upper Nile State to evaluate, deliberate and present the position of Equatoria regarding the future governance of South Sudan. Earlier, under the auspices of Equatoria South Sudanese Community in America (ESSCA), Equatorians came out with a position paper which detailed in no uncertain terms the wishes and aspirations of the people of South Sudan, with Equatorians being part and parcel of them.

Conclusion:

These clearly expressed positions of Equatorians should not be contradicted by self protecting and self-seeking millionaire vice president, governors, cabinet ministers and military generals. Surely these unpopular politicians have everything to gain from a failed government and everything to lose from a well-established government that we have been working and consulting to establish by addressing the root causes of the poor governance and the conflict. When it matters most for them, they rally Equatoria behind them, but when all is sweet and green for them Equatoria matters less. However, this time around we will not allow self-interests to prevail over the common interest, wishes and aspirations of the majority of our people. Therefore, the ongoing peace, which we want to be real peace-building and development planning process should not be deterred and should not be watered down by disguised ill-intentions of a few politicians. Equatoria should not be used as a Trojan horse for execution of sinister plans of these politicians!

Continue talking nonsense and see the consequences later on. The gov’t is lucky to have equatoria boys fighting for them. but if we leave you dinkas to nuer alone, your ars will be wide opened. We don’t follow anybody but trust me time is coming for the dinkas and their equatoria beneficiaries to be removed. then we will see that you go back to rearing cattle and walking naked just like the old days. (Jenge)

Naked Man, think of your forefathers and your own father who is still naked in the cattle camp which good food are taking about, do actual know food, or you have just come to look at food in EQUATORIA REGION. why don’t you think of the past where you use to be? Equatorian don’t want nonesense of cattle or any Murah in their territory

A gazelle is following hyena unaware that, later on, he will be eaten by the one he is following. Nuer wants to dominant all the tribes in South Sudan by force and you equatorians, most especially, this so called intellectuals who are in outside the country are unaware of this. you are just biting the hand that feed you, you should thank Dinka. Nuer are here are dominate everyone tribe by force and dinka will never accept this.
Never follow Riek Machar, he will leave you hanging and run to the enemy. He did this so many times that only a fool can follow him. the killer is so blind and so good at fooling his tribe men that he use them anytime wants. He does not see Nuer as humans but instruments to be used for political power.

Point of correction, Equatoria are not following any body whom their culture is walking naked I mean Nuer nor Jenge. There is no different between the Nuer and Jenge (Dinka) Your time will come where you will raise your hands up and go back to the Cattle Camps (Murah) to care for your cows. Rather than bringing uncivilized naked communities into power

my dear the development of equatorial has nothing to do with the president or the so called DINKA, it will be a relieve to us if u all riase up and leave equatorial region which I doubt, because u guys messed up ur region with violence and all migrated to equatorial, and now causes problems to us with wired behaviours and mentality ……..u all can pack and leave equatorial and u watch how equatorial will thrive in development and security…

Borman,

The tarmac road you alluded to was constructed by USAID (both financing & supervision), Kiir’s government has not even completed the 60km of Tarmac within Juba.

Which money are you talking about being collected from Nimule and used by the state? It appears you are very confused jenge from Bor who doesn’t even know what goes around among your kits and kins in Nimule. Let me inform you: in Nimule the entire boarder mangement is done by jenge both semi-literate and those completely illiterate. I have had my passport stamped wrongly by one jenge woman at the immigration in Nimule many times! What a shame!

The 24/7 patrol along the Juba-Nimule highway is to protect the livelihood of the Dinka people and Museveni’s business interests in South Sudan.

Yes schools in Equatoria are operating because we value education. Think of revitalising Malek secondary school. Learn to leave with Nuers in peace so that they will have no qualm with you.

Borman, we are watching you closely. Respect others and you will leave in peace.

So interesting to see Equatorians publishing such wonderful ideas, its indeed these beneficiaries who are letting the Equatorians down. but the question is, what measures should be established to overcome this? coz what I much as you people in diaspora continue writing volumelously no positive changes will be realised. I would advice that you better put things in action………………… for your ideas to be recognised.
