April 07, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —- The establishment order No 36/2015 that President Kiir issued on 2 October 2015 was a serious and dangerous turning point in the land border conflict between Dinka Padang and Collo in Upper Nile region of South Sudan. The seriousness of that order comes from the fact that Collo land east of the White Nile and Sobat rivers were skillfully carved out and annexed to the new Dinka state known as East Nile. No one needs to be told about the danger emanating from the order. In a rare move Collo of all walks, who usually remain divided over many important issues, have now firmly united their ranks behind the land issue. Collo people have decided to fight for the return of their usurped land. And nothing is being spared for that cause. To Collo the creation of the so called East Nile state with the presence of Dinka Padang in Malakal is nothing but forceful occupation of their land by Padang. That occupation must be dealt with in the same manner it came – force.

Occupation may take different forms but its effects are similar in many instances. Eye-witnesses from Malakal town and other parts of Collo land currently under Padang saw clear lack of respect for personal property. Houses have been broken into; some are being re-shaped while others are being demolished and the land changed to different uses. Communal lands are also being abused in the same way.  These barbaric behaviours are none other than those of an occupation force. The so-called East Nile state establishment is an occupation entity.

Another proof of their occupation is provided by the decision to mobilize their youth and organizing them into an armed tribal militia that commits atrocities in Collo lands under their occupation. Occasionally the militia crosses to the west bank of the river to go to kill innocent and unarmed Collo people. This has the objective of moving Collo further away from the river in order to create a buffer and safe zone for Padang leaders on the east bank. Sadly these atrocities have gone unquestioned until the Padang authorities got bold enough to attack the civilians in the UNMISS camp in Malakal in February 2016.

Further proof of the occupation is the re-call of Padang military personnel from all the organized forces under the pretext of guarding the oil fields in Paloch. Letters issued by Stephen Dhieu in this regard and a more recent decision by the new governor of the so-called East Nile State, Chol Thon, are undisputable evidences. One may ask whether the oil is the personal property of Dinka Padang or it is a national resource. The answer is that the oil in South Sudan is a national resource and that the responsibility for guarding it lies with the national army not Dinka Padang. The meandering tricks being applied by Padang may impose on others but not on Collo people. We know that Dinka Padang, with the help of their backers in Juba, are assembling a force, which they think will enable them consolidate their occupation of Collo land-period!

The people of South Sudan, who want to know the truth, are duly informed that Collo people are not party to the political power struggle engulfing the new country. In fact Collo people would have no problem with the central government if it didn’t take the side of Padang for no other reason except being their tribesmen. This doesn’t mean that Collo people are not sensitive to the problems affecting people in other parts of South Sudan. It is our hope that those problems are being addressed by the IGAD sponsored peace process as it is also our wish that the same peace process leads to the cancellation of the unjust order No 36/2015 and thus return our land to us. If not, the struggle for the liberation of Collo land will continue. In that event the IGAD mediators, TRIOKA and the international community at large will realize that they had not done enough to address Collo land problem. By then nothing would be appropriate to address the problem except the language Dinka Padang understands best and which Collo can also perfect.

Our compatriots in South Sudan must also know that the war in Collo land is a Dinka war. The Dinka Padang created it through their unfounded claims on Collo land. As already said the Dinka dominated government in Juba got involved merely for tribal sympathies. It is clear the Dinka have now realized that they cannot win the unprovoked war they imposed on Collo. They tried the mercenaries from Darfur and Blue Nile before and failed. The Dinka are now turning to the other tribes of South Sudan to fight their war. We want to stress that Collo are fighting in self-defense and that they know their enemy very well. Collo, therefore, have no quarrel with the people of South Sudan whom we strongly advise to keep away from this war. Let the Dinka alone face the consequences of their arrogance and aggression. On the other hand we are confident that no sensible person will blame Collo for punishing the trespassers.

Long live the free people of South Sudan

Long live the new found unity of Collo people

Long live the just struggle of Collo people for their ancestral land

Samson Oyay Awin,

Chairman of Collo Community Council, Khartoum

Dear chol y

Be careful about what you are hoping for !!. You will regret the result of your intention and that effect will may or may not go away for ever on padang dinka generations to come . Be informed that because of chollo land kiir government may not or frankly speaking will not survive any longer after this peace unless he nullify the creation of 28 states and steps down as well. Full stop!!

Long live south sudan.
Long live chollo nation.

Cholo first of all if you know that the oil is a national property then why you tried to destroy it when Cholo militia Olong built Bord and went to Maluth to destroye it as Nuer does in oil field in Bentu please stop your deciption you’re just for the destruction not for building.secondly you accused the government for destroyed Malakal city and it well known that Olony and Gatkuth or Gatkoth are two rebels who are responsibility with looting and destruction of Malakal city.again what you should know Dinka are not for destruction like you because Dinka culture is to respect what they had been tired to built they can’t destroy it and they will never thinking to destroye what they had built with their blood and their resources.

Dear Chol without support from Jeing government in Juba, you will not stant with Collo one sacond. We are not jocking by now, you will face the consequences of your backward claims. Padang will not exist in Upper Nile ground again. Please mark my words. We are giving peace chance, after Riek arrives Juba and nothing is done peaceful, than better prepare for real war with Collo, other communities will not fight Jieng war

Forget about Malakal and land grabbing issue because Malakal is grabbed by the nature which divides Chollo and Jieng community in the greater Upper Nile.
Remember this is not the period of Funj Kingdom when you allied yourself and began to target Dinka and Nuer tribes.
Don’t forget that Dinka is capable of avenging that history and drive you out in South Sudan.
Final judgement: The Nile is a natural feature that marks the border b’tn Chollo and Dinka. Period

Wunkiir, Ulang, Yomding, Omkhor, Gum, Yaom, Machar Nyarkueth, Wunkuel etc

Chol Y
Since when did Malakal belong to you? If you don’t refrain from such nonsensical statements we will be forced to make you learn the hard-way. That is to say take the fight right to your very backyard in Akoka, Melut and Renk so that we are all displaced. Take this warning very serious.

Chol and rest of Padang sons, it seems you are playing with the fire that will burn you for good. Be honest to tell the history of your ancestral, when did they reached to Upper Nile? Can you be sincered to educate the readers, and explained the names Adung, Abwong and Galachile?
For readers benefit those places belong to Anwak people, who left the areas because they cannot live with uncivilized community called Jieng.
You young men who never has clear historical background, Byliet was given by Reth Kwathker wat Akot to a wonder Jieng man, so if you will not shut your month, this place will be claimed back by the family of Kwathker in Ogan Konaan. Also I want to let you know about Akoka, it was given by Reth Awin to Deng. Which people miscalled as dingjol, which original is ”Deng ce Jal” that meant Deng has gone away. To obtain that piece of land, Deng had to paid her daughter, Akwol as renson for that pience of land became known as Akoka, and Akwol was marriage by one of prince. In Collo language ”Akok” means pay for.
In fact we didn’t want to expose you because we were not gready like you. Do you know the reasons why Kokora was initiated in early 80s, it was because of your wild beast behaviors that you restarted again in 2013 by massacred innocent Nuers in cold blood. Their bloods are curse upon all Jiengs, who never challenge heinous acts made by member of their community.
I am ready to educate you every day about your background, and to tell youabout the land own by Jieng in Upper Nile, how did they settled in those places such as Maleut and Renk. If your parents failed to educate you that you came from Panuru in 19 century, I will be in psition to give you true teaching.
In regard to your question about Gen. Johnson Olony, it was Jieng attitude that caused him to Join IO, you were trying to kill him after he rescued Juba government from IO. In back of your mind, you were trying to killing so that you can achieve Collo land occupation by force, but you failed miserably. Today there are many Johnson Olony in Collo land that will be ready to teach you. Watch out in case you illusion leaders will not accept this peace, which is your golden chance, it will be hard and impossible for whole Jieng community to face all south communities because your sick idealogy is dengerous to entire South Sudan.

Please just put the strategy of reforms in place and the jenge will run away because they always hate working in a system line. they are born to be looters. Let the election come, I tell you not body will vote for jenge

Jaang hegemony do not NEED diplomatic approach. As a matter of fact any diplomatic approach in countering Jaang’s quest for domination has more negative implications than declaring war against them.

Remember in the early to mid 80th; diplomacy failed between Gaajaaks & Jaang dominated spla/m or the so called unionists camp of Garang. Gaajaaks then decided to implement the language of practical warfare with immediate consequences to Dr. Garang. The consequences were convincing enough for the stubborn Dr to reconcile temporarily.

Jaang are relentless in their quest and diplomacy works in their favor everytime because they are crafty at beauracratic and political manipulations. I won’t do it any other way even if my life depends on it.
