UK and USA Frustrated With Juba, Demand End To Act of Terrorism and Call For Accountability

March 19, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — As South Sudanese leaders continue to entertain violence and violations of International human rights, crimes and crimes against humanity, the International Community, led by the United States of America, United Kingdom, Norway, European Union, and the United Nations are losing trust and patience in South Sudan’s warlords-turned politicians.

Although the International community and the United Nations have been cautious while dealing with the warring parties in fear to jeopardize their citizens and humanitarian workers in the war-torn country, this week, the US and UK envoys to the United Nations have broken their silence on what they refer as acts of “terrorism” and demand imminent justice and accountability without further delay.

Speaking at the headquarters of the United Nation in New York on 18th March, 2015, Gordon Brown, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, buzzed on Generals of Salva Kir government, tagging them as a “terrorist group”, for forcefully recruiting school children in Upper Nile state.

“The latest information is that the terrorist group have offered to allow them to sit their exams as long as they can then take them back as child soldiers in the future.” Former Premier, Gordon Brown said whild referring to Maj. Gen Johnson Olony and Lt. Gen. Johnson Gony Beliu, who are believed to have recruited hundreds of school children between the age of 12 and 15.

The child soldiers, mixed with a portion of President Kiir’s body guards, known as the Tigers, together with foreign mercenaries and rebels from Uganda and Sudan are believed to have participated in recent attack on SPLA-IO position at Wadakona in Manyo County.

Brown strongly made his remarks despite an intervention from the Inner City Press journalist in attempt to explain that Maj. Gen. Olony, who is believed to have been summoned in Juba for the act but failed to show up, is allied to Salva Kiir government.

“The relationship between him and the authorities, I don’t know the answer to that. But I do know they were seized by a warlord.” Brown explains.

According to PM Brown, the warlords are hypocritical, and their aim is to use the children as weapons of war.

“So we are dealing with a cynical, hypocritical group of people who are using these children as weapons of war,” said Gordon Brown, the UN Special Envoy for Global Education.

Gen. Olony formerly fought Salva Kiir government for over two years but accepted an amnesty in 2013. Although his forces, who are made up of mostly Chollo tribesmen, are now integrated into South Sudan SPLA-Juba faction, he continues to command them separately in his home towns in Upper Nile state.

Last month a report released by the Human Rights Watch accused the warring parties for recruiting child soldiers in many parts of Unity and Upper Nile state. Brown estimates that over 12,000 children are in uniforms in various front lines fighting for the warring parties.

On 17th this month, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, demands that an accountability mechanism must be laid out to bring all the perpetuators to account saying that a “kind of collective ascription of responsibility is going to remain a major impediment to peace and to trust.”

Amb. Power stresses that justice and accountability must not be delayed based on self-defeating reasoning.

“This notion that accountability can wait because peace has to come first is just an inherently flawed and self-defeating notion.” Amb. Power said.

“this is a scale of atrocities and sexual and gender based violence and child soldier recruitment and mass graves that warrants, by any objective measure, accountability.” The U.S envoy to the United Nations said on Tuesday.

Amb. Power and the U.N. Security Council discussed South Sudan conflict with the African Union Peace and Security Council last week in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The U.N. Security Council urged the African Union to officially release its Commission’s report to expedite the peace process, accountability and healing.

The report, which has been leaked by Reuters, exposed many generals and tribal militias, who instigated the conflict and revenges that have dragged on for over one year.

The U.N Security Council threatens to impose sanctions on individuals, who obstruct the peace process and reconciliation.

South Sudan is a terrorist state and that makes you a sympathizer if not an agent of a terrorist state. As the saying goes, Its either you are with the terrorists(ethnic regime) or with us SPLM-/A-Pagaak.

AGUMUT or Kiir’s Condom,

You will not get away with murder this time. This is not about Dr. Machar, it is about the innocent civilians who were murdered through no fault of their own. Tens of thousands of Nuer ethnic group were brutally murdered in Juba, which resulted into this imposed war. Truth travels slowly but it surely gets to it intended destination. Bank on Kiir, but your bank will go bankcrupt sooner or later.

Uguak Anyau,

The world has already study South Sudan before and after independent and found that Kiir is the problem, he is warlord, visionless, terrorist, and he is an extreme dictator.

Kiir invented all the problem in South Sudan, refuse to bring peace, refuse transitional government, and he is not respecting cessation of hostilities.

Yes, Gorden Brown knows the meaning terrorist. Terrorist is someone who train private militia and use it to murder innocent civilians. This is the true image of Kiir and Olony who are the real terrorist in South Sudan.

Tell Kiir to step down so that a world will judge only politician

Hi agumut, Gordon Brown did not use the word terrorist for no reason. Now look at the population of Nuer who are now residing in UNMISS camps in Juba, Bor, Malakal, Bentiu and Maluth? Who terrorized them to run to UN protection camps? Agumut can you say that they ran into those camps for fun? What do you call the person or group of people who terrorized them? If you do not know it, please look it up in the dictionary. Padiet Gahgah
