July 12, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— Governor of Eastern Bieh State Peter Bol Kong and Governor of Latjor State Peter Lam Both ran to UNMISS protection site on Sunday for fear of their lives. South Sudan forces opened fire in the house of Peter Bol Kong while inside his house but his bodyguards fought back and repulsed the attackers. After short gun fight with Kiir’s forces, Bol’s bodyguards took a collective decision and defected to SPLM/A-IO forces, leaving their boss behind on the grounds that Governor Bol refused to defect to Machar. He ran to UNMISS Tongpiny site alone without any protection along the way.

In the same light, Governor Peter Lam Both was attacked by bodyguards of South Sudan Minister of Information Michael Makuei Lueth, Lam ran to UNMISS Tongpiny site alone after his bodyguards disarrayed. Later, Latjor staate Minister of Information Peter Hoth Tuach posted on his Facebook timeline that he was among Nuer officials picked up by national security. “We are in the hand of national Security. Never worry, we communicate later on,” said Peter Tuach who never tweeted nor posted again on his timeline in order to assure his friends of his safety.

In another interesting development, the deputy of South Sudan Chief Justice John Gatwech Lul was seen in UN Tongping protection site on Sunday afternoon, no one knew how he managed to get there in the midst of sporadic fighting in Juba. It has been reported that Nuer officials and South Sudan army Generals from Nuer in Juba were targeted and were fired at in their houses by forces belong to Gen. Paul Malong Awan, South Sudan army chief. A gun fight took place in the houses of Peter Bol, Kong, Gen. Charles Lam Chuol, Presidential advisor for security Tutkew Gatluak, Hon. Timothy Taban Juch among other high officials.
