July 12, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — The chapter of SPLM/SPLA in the west coast province of British Columbia, Canada, held a public briefing yesterday, July 11th, at Douglas College in New Westminster, BC.
The public briefing was attended by the SPLM/SPLA representatives to the Republic of Brazil, Mr. James Mawich Bichok, the Deputy Representative to Canada, Mr. Charles Wani Pioneson, and the local chapter executives under the leadership of William Goldiet, the BC SPLM Coordinator.
The two representatives, Charles and Bichok, attended the opposition’s leadership meetings in Pagak, Pagak I & II, among other leadership conferences in Nairobi and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
According to Charles Pioneson, who discussed many proposed resolutions during the first Pagak Conference, the SPLM/SPLA under the leadership of South Sudan’s former Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, is not fighting for positions or to institute two armies in the country but for fundamental reforms and equal treatment of all citizens.
Charles stresses the overdue call for federalism in the country, saying that we need federalism as it has been the popular demand of our people since 1947.
The deputy representative to Canada reiterates that the people of Equatoria, who feel marginalized and dominated in their own region, may push for a separate independent state if the current centralized system continue to rule the country; however, he believes that under the leadership of Dr. Machar every citizen will be happy, and therefore no region or state would want to break away from the Federal Republic of South Sudan.
Confident that the armed rebellion will fix the system, Mr. Wani calls on the minority groups, the people of Greater Equatoria and Greater Bhar el Ghazal regions to support the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny to restore the system and began developing their own federal states, counties and payams.
The representatives advocate that the SPLM/SPLA in Opposition will bring radical reforms in judiciary, security sector, police service and public sector.
The deputy representative to Canada said after the implementation of reforms “when you go to court, you will not be asked where are you from in order to determine your fates”.
He continued that the current police and national security brutality on the media and innocent citizens, and lack of training will be fixed through the implementation of reforms.
Charles further reminds the South Sudanese that all the political classes and public jobs would be filled based on academic qualifications and related work experience but not on tribalism and nepotism as it has been in the government of Salva Kiir.
“We need people to qualify for jobs on their academic qualification, not where you are from…” Charles P. Wani said.
Mr. Wani also stresses the need of local initiative and reforms in agricultural sector, saying that our people will revolutionize and mechanize agriculture for self reliance, such that the Ugandan government will stop imposing itself on our people.
The deputy representative reminds the gathering of how fortunate they are to have a visionary leader, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, who contributed magnificently towards the independent of South Sudan.
“We are fortunate enough to have visionary leaders like Dr. Riek Machar Teny. Without Dr. Riek Machar Teny we would never be independent.” Charles said.
Mr. Wani optimistically stressed that the armed opposition has won diplomatically and it’s just a matter of time that the revolution will be enshrined at the grassroots of the three regions of South Sudan.
The deputy representative argues that Dr. Machar isolated Mr. Salva Kiir in South Africa from the Africa leaders during the AU summit, and also in the region; saying that “only the stupid Museveni” attended the 4th anniversary of South Sudan when the world leaders are calling on Salva Kiir to step aside to allow room for Transitional government of national unity.
The deputy representative further revealed that the isolation of Salva Kiir did not just happen by chance but as a result of sacrifices from many South Sudanese all over the world.
Despite their lack of budget, the SPLM/SPLA in Opposition has designated 21 representatives [ambassadors] to various countries in the world.
One of the representatives, James Mawich Bichok, who is designated to Brazil arrived in British Columbia two days earlier to meet the Brazilian leadership and the people of BC.
Mr. Bichok reminded the gathering that the term and legitimacy of president Salva Kiir has officially ended on 9th July, and the opposition does not acknowledge any illegal extension of Salva Kiir’s term.
The representatives call on the Diaspora community to meet with their local representatives in the Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) in their constituencies to advise them to rally behind the IGAD-Plus mediation and the peace loving people of South Sudan.
The representatives exclusively stress that without the IGAD-Plus mediation, and subsequent signing of a meaningful truce, the war will never stop in the war-torn South Sudan.
South Sudan broke away from the old Sudan on July 9th, 2011. Nearly half of the four years has been spent in a deadly conflict which broke-out in December 2013 as a result of internal differences with the ruling party, SPLM.
With more than 50, 000 people dead, over two millions people are displaced to refugees camps and UN protection sites within and outside the country.

All them are not in the front line which another story. I am afraid that Canada,United States and Brazil will accuse them very soon of have being involved with Drugs Cartels. They have to be very careful otherwise they will run out from those countries like AL shabab and ISIS. The government will unite with those they beg to kick them out from those countries.

Salva Kiir and his genocidal parliament term of office expired on March 1 and May 1 2015 in the Federal Republic of South Sudan and hence Salva Kiir and his legislature are there illegal and unconstitutional by the Interim Transtitional Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan. My question is what have our Comrade and Human Rights activist Deputy Representative to Canada, Ambassador Charles Wani Pioneson done wrong in his fight to bring the culpirits of Juba genocide in December 2013 to be answerable to the people of South Sudan or to face justice in afair justice system be it the local courts or hybrid and ICC in the Hague. Salva Kiir, Malong Awan, Kuol Manyang and Isaac Obuto Mamur Mete of National Security who shot the Nuer by his own hands must be brought to justice why he killed the Nuer who seek protection in the ministry of National Security or who have trust in him as Minster of National Security who protects our national constitution regardless of the people of South Sudan nationality and political, religious, social and gender orientation or affliation.
