May 06, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — A South Sudanese government delegation led by the Minister in the office of the President, Mr. Awan Guol Riak, visited Harare this week to deliver an official letter from President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

According to the President’s Minister, the letter thanks the people of Zimbabwe for their supports, and invites President Robert Gabriel Mugabe to attend South Sudan’s 4th independent anniversary on 9th of July, 2015.

Speaking to Zimbabwean Press, Herald, Mr Awan describes the meeting with President Mugabe as “excellent and successful”.

“The meeting was very excellent and fruitful. I brought the letter of my President, Salva Kiir, to President Mugabe.” Mr. Awan said

“It was on two important areas. Firstly, it was to brief the President on the peace process of our nation, which is the youngest nation in the world and the negotiations going on,” he said.

“It was also on our bilateral relations with Zimbabwe. We know of the support you gave us during the years of our struggle. We need to co-operate in various areas from ministry to ministry.” Awan said.

The previous anniversary was attended only by the Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, the only president who has attended all the three independent anniversaries. His forces rescued Salva Kiir government in 2013-14 and continue to defend Juba from falling.

Mr. Awan urges the Ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries to facilitates the visits of the two Presidents.

“We would want to initiate ways the ministries of Foreign Affairs will work to see the presence of our President in your country and we would want also to see President Mugabe during our independence celebrations where we will sign memoranda of understanding in various areas,” he said.

As South Sudan shies away from her Western allies, while digging for “African solution to African problem,” countries like Zimbabwe and Uganda with weak democratic systems become soft targets.

In March 2014, South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Marial Benjamin, met Zimbabwe ambassador to South Sudan, Kufa Chinoza, in Juba to persuade Zimbabwe for military support to protect the endangered oil fields in the country.

Although ambassador Chinoza strongly promised at the time that his country would support regional initiatives to restore peace in the war-torn South Sudan, Zimbabwe’s Defense Forces (ZDF) spokesperson, Colonel Overson Mugwisi, denied receiving an official request.

As the new chair of Africa Union, President Mugabe, who has been reluctant to comment on South Sudan’s conflict, might step up efforts in resolving the 17-months-old conflict that has grossly affected the world’s youngest nation.

As a consequence of the current conflict more than 50 thousands people have been killed and over two millions others displaced to the neighboring countries.

Any country knows that south sudan has no military power right now now because it defense come from uganda people defense forces. And without them, for sure salva kirr wouldn’t stand defending salva kirr right from the first day of this conflict.

Kirr’s despaching every one to any where so that he can keep south sudanes in capttive from out side world. Although he know that his days are number.

Kiir,Uganda and world power have done that to protect Nuer of being eliminated. Your people should have gone for good. Think-tanks have played the big role.

this is the consequences of having weak president that is always desperate for everything to keep him in power hahaha. I think if Salva Kiir were to be Nuer & Riek Machar Dinka no one can defeat Salva, but I’m sorry for him & Dinka tribe of being so weak to rule this country

You are so right unfortunately tyranny is not what will work for our country or other wise the Nuers can take power and maintain it through an iron fist and nobody would say a thing in South Sudan. That would be the real nightmare for our people. They are currently inconsiderate and ignorant of such danger of pushing the Nuer to that venue.

Mr. Awan, as a Minister in the office office of the President, you will be lucky if the 4th. Anniversary of independence of South Sudan, will receive foreign dignitaries to say the least. Well, M7 will certainly keep coming for the celebration, as he will always do, to continue getting the checks for the UPDF. Other than him, no President is secure if not, believes Salva Kiir is a legitimate leader of South Sudan, after his term expires this month of May,2015. Even the local citizens might keep away, for fear of insecurity.
So,don’t waste public money for celebrating what? We should pray in the Churches, for the innocent life’s lost during the past 16 months of butchery. Foreign leaders know what is happening in south Sudan. The security issues are unpredictable. If your citizens are lynched daily in the national capital, what kind of security would the government of South Sudan provide when it has not apprehended a single killer in the capital. Foreign leaders are not just stupid to celebrate a failed state. Well, you tried Mr.Awan, God bless you in your invitations spree!!!!!!.

Nuers will be talking of UPDF’s involvement in this conflict till their throats die down…..Believe me, if it wasn’t because of James Hoth who led down our Dinka forces from Bilpham during those dark days of the begining of this war, Nuers would’ve been in Ethiopia by now…Had Paul Malong been the SPLA chief of staff then, your tribe would have faced an extinction, Ms Naath….UPDF only involved in the battle of Bor-Juba coz Hoth Mai refused to fight the White Army saying clearly that he won’t fight civilians of his tribe…This was what exactly happened…So you Nuers are only complacing while Dinkas are working hard day/night for your detrimentalisation….

Chulbaar, why don’t you withdraw UPDF after Hoth Mai was removed? Why Kiir is still looking for Military Support from poor Zimbabwean to protect Oil field if there are capable Dinka. They are busy in Juba looting civilian money.
