Oct 4, 2015(Nyamilepedia) —- After two days of fierce fighting between the rival forces of SPLA in the towns of Leer and Koch, South Sudan’s SPLA [IO] claim victory over an “invading government troops”.

According to Weirial Puok Baluang, the spokesman of the military governor of Unity State, SPLA-IO forces captured the town of Leer this evening at around 2:30pm.

“The town fall under the hand of the Leer County Commissioner 1st Lt. Kuong Kuony Dhol this evening 4th Oct. 2015 at 2:30 PM South Sudan local time” Weirial said.

According to the spokesman, their forces withdrew from Leer, Machar’s home town, at 7pm on October 2nd when the government troops attacked the town.

“This is to inform the world and the media houses that, we have at last cleared the town and its payams after we tactically withdrawn from the town on 2nd Oct. 2015 at 700:PM” he said.

Werial believes that their forces, comprising of Dok-Nuer youth and SPLA forces, tactically withdrew from the town two days ago to lure in weapons and munitions from the government troops, who are allegedly their main supplier of arms.

The opposition declared having captured four mounted Toyotas, “uncounted number of AK-47 and other light weapons”, and destroyed “1 PC tanks, 1 Russain-made tank near M-S-F Holland’s compound” among other damages.

In other reports, the opposition has declared victories in Koch and its suburbs alleging that the “government troops have sustained huge casualties”.

In Juba, however, the military spokesman of SPLA, Col. Philip Aguer reports that “the rebels of Riek Machar attacked our positions in Leer and Koch”.

Despite that Aguer did not clarified who controls the town, before and after these attacks, Leer town is one of the most contested areas in the country.

The town has exchanged hands more than three times, however, the rebels have dominated its control.

The two sides have exchanged accusations over the violations of the recently signed peace agreement as Juba is accused by the residents of Greater Equatoria for aggressive attacks and force displacements of civilians in Western and Central Equatoria states.

Although the president has pledged commitments to a peace deal that he reluctantly signed in August, the president is believed to have officially violated the agreement by unilaterally creating 28 states.

Kiir, Malong and the JCE have turn this war into an opportunity of settling old scores of pro-united secular Sudan and that of pro-South Sudan independent nation. This is not surprising because Machar’s prevail against the above mentioned names. He prevail militarIy, and idealistically. Sadly they are all ganging up on Machar as a revenge

No, AGUMUT, neither do I don’t want to know. I am not a woman like you. I am more interested in the thing a leader do in the open to show more transparency.

They use fighting as a pretext to loot civilians’ relief. Now ICRC has pulled out from Leer after its stores are looted, its cars taken and its staff threatened.

Do those soldiers care about the welfare of those civilians that organization try to help?

Thick skulls don’t know what ceasefire means. If you don’t follow the orders of your bosses, you have no discipline.

South Sudan is the only place soldiers defy orders from their top chairmen.

Fighting is the only way will bring this government to permanent peace because the idiot president will never listen to any one who call him to make a peace in this country. I believe the peace will come after incumbent president die.
